The company was set up in 1956. The main headquarters of Kelprojektas since the commencement of activities is located in Kaunas, later on the company set up regional subdivisions in Vilnius and Klaipėda. In July 2018 Tyréns became the sole shareholder of the group. This is a long-term partner of Kelprojektas and one of the largest construction consultancy and design companies in Sweden.
