The Strategic Management Model in Figure 1 is provided to show the elements required for the strategic management of an organization. Since the implementation of TQM is a competitive strategy, it supports the organization’s vision. Vision provides direction to an organization. In a TQM environment, this direction is action oriented, indentifying where the organization is going and the strategies and action plans detailing how the organization will get there.

The five P’s are: Purpose, Principles, Processes, People and Performance.

4. The Role of Managerial Accounts in the Successful Implementation of TQM

Understand the various systems and processes and how they impact each other.

Eliminate items which do not add value including unnecessary bureaucracy.
