Self-assembly And Programmable Materials Essay

Self-assembly and programmable materials essay.
Without any doubt, this video is worth attention and time spent, because for me personally, it’s always compelling and exciting to learn something new that I’ve never heard of before, especially when it comes to science. Indeed, I was really pleasantly surprised that there is such a thing as self-assembly and programmable materials that Skylar Tibbits (architect and director of Self-Assembly Lab, working on programmable material technologies rethinking novel manufacture and construction processes (MIT Architecture, USA)) talked about in this video.
First of all, I fully agree with Skylar's idea that the ever-changing sphere of design requires innovations – modern design and fabrication tools, for instance smart materials that can not only respond to changes in the environment, but also adapt to them. From my point of view, such materials would allow designers to create unique, modern products that are cost-efficient, easy to manufacture and widely applicable.
