Ultrasound is using about sixteen years In medicine.Austrian doctor Karl.T.Dusikas in the 1942 was first used the Ultrasound to detect brain cancer.But systemic using started in 1960.All researches was developing very fast and today we have ultrasound in a lot of areas.

Development of ultrasound diagnostics in Lithuania.

1964 in Kaunas polytechnic institute was developed first ultrasound machine in Lithuania. 1971 – 1974 the Fetal Intrauterine Investigations were carried out at the Kaunas Medical Institute, and this research was started in clinical practice at the Vilnius University Hospital in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology . In 1991, in Lithuania, Medelkom created its first product a portable ultrasonic device SLE 101 with linear electronic scanning.
