Extrusion of cold metal working.

Objectives: To learn the changes taking place in metal at cold extrusion processing, to be introduced to technology of extrusion and to determine main factors of extrusion.

Equipment: 1) Hydraulic press 2) Container with changible dies and ram 3) Lead billet 4) Sliding caliper 5) Marker 6) hammer 7) Ruler.

Conclusions: We extruded 6 different ingots, through different diameter holes d1=18.9 d2=10.9 d3=8.8.

Through hole d1, the finished material was shortest, but widest, through d3 finished product was vice versa. The biggest deformation degree is shown in number three, that occurred, because of the biggest force was used and there was the smallest diameter.

Some parameters may differ, because of different force used during extrusion or some measurement errors.
