Nowadays, people are very concerned about their physical appearance, but not all of them have a will to follow a diet or to attend a gym. In my opinion, gym would help everybody to keep fit.
Firstly, it can definitely help with weight loss, because some studies have shown that inactivity is a major problem in weight gain and obesity. That is why, exercising helps to burn more calories per day and accelerates metabolism. Also, it is good for muscles and bones. For example, weight lifting can stimulate muscle building and exercises helps to build bone density for young people.
On the other hand, gym causes muscle and body pain, that is why some people fear going to the gym in order to avoid pain. Also, regular weight lifting can cause high pressure on the heart. In a result, regular lifting combined with long cardio exercises can cause severe heart problems.
I believe that attending gym could truly contribute to helping people to keep fit, as gym is important for everyone because of health benefits it gives you, but keep in mind that intense weight lifting is more harmful to your body.
