Recognize the business style as goal directed, task structured, efficient and polished.
Clear and concise language is generally achieved by using words that allow the most to be transferred with the fewest words. A good communicator will try use specific and straightforward language with appropriate structure.
The generally conservative and traditional business culture tends to prefer blue, black and green. For most U.S. audiences, blue and green connote wisdom and trustworthiness. U.S. audiences associate green with money, red with fear, danger or financial loss. Black connotes finality. It effective for financial reviews. Pure brown connotes uneasiness and passivity and green is thought to stimulate interaction. Pink projects a “frilly” image.
Smile. In general, most of time, communicate with a pleasant expression because it gives positive regard for the work and organization. Do not show that you have a “bad day” because the workplace is not the proper location to work out issues. Of course, insincere smirk or slightly mad grin is not advised. Too much smiling in serious business conversations, meetings can be taken that you do not understand the situation.
