UK and the USA media broadcasting corporations , newspapers , other social media. Similarities and differences.

In the world where the media (the means of communication, as radio and television, newspapers, magazines, and the Internet, that reach or influence people widely) is important to keeping the public informed and connected to social issues, it is often difficult to keep track of which media is more reliant, interesting and on track, esspecialy in such big and powerful countries as the UK and the US . Despite cultural similarities between the United States and the United Kingdom, there are not only resemblance, but also many substantial differences between American and British media. Recent research has drawn attention specifically to differences in the amount of information carried by news, commercials or magazine articles in the two countries, in the creative approaches employed, the use of humor and many more.

To attract more viewers/listeners/readers’ media corporations use a lot of different creative approaches. For example, Americans are far more at ease with being overly in love with their country than Brits. That’s is why the news, commercials or magazines are riddled with patriotism and no one feels especially uncomfortable about it. For example, in American television most of the content is related with idolizing the country, so Americans give more attention to their news broadcasters, especially when the news report is about the events that are happening in the US, because they feel that they are being more patriotic. Brits, on the other hand are more restrained with their national pride, in other words, there are no flag waving if there is no good reason for it and so they orientate on wider range of news. Furthermore, American television is known for toughness. It announces, that if you are going to tell the truth, you have to tell it the hard way and the US citizens approve it. They enjoy more basic, straightforward information. Whereas British sincerity tends to come in the form of smiling, including more humor. The UK media representatives feel that this is a better, more approaching way of giving information. Of course, it is not true in all cases. This statement is more suitable for casual news, commercials and other simple and non-principal information, not for negative events or more serious news.
