The Malbork Castle leaves you a great impression the moment you step through the main gate. Since more than a half the castle was destroyed during World War II it has been mostly reconstructed, with restoration ongoing since 1962 following a fire in 1959 which caused further damage. The atmosphere in the entire castle’s area is great. It gives you a feeling that you just went back in time and are living as a villager in Medieval Europe.
