The Investigation Of Thermal Radiation And Measuring Temperature By An Optical Pyrometer (2)

The investigation of thermal radiation and Measuring temperature by an optical pyrometer (2).
Switch on the circuit of incandescent bulb 2. It is fed by an alternating power source through transformer 5. Voltage is measured by voltmeter 4 and current intensity by ammeter 3 (Fig 33). Take not very high voltage for the filament glow to be weak.
Direct the optical pyrometer 1 to the incandescent filament of the bulb. Get ready the optical pyrometer for work. Turn on the power source feeding the pyrometer circuit. Turning the pyrometer dial clockwise switch on the pyrometer resistance. Observe the pyrometer bulb filament which becomes noticeable at the temperature of about 5000C. Turn on red filter.
Direct the pyrometer objective to the incandescent filament of the bulb and get the sharp picture of it. The pyrometer filament must overlap that of the incandescent bulb.
