The importance of freedom of expression in a democratic society.

Everyone has the right to spread his ideas in any form of sharing information. In the sense of human rights, this is called freedom of expression. This freedom prevents the state and other members of society from using censorship. Today, when most countries in the world are democratic, freedom of expression is one of the main features of democracy. Freedom of expression allows for public debate and the maintenance of free and independent media, ensuring citizens awareness and transparent functioning of the state. It allows you to freely express your thoughts, to have your own opinion and to voice it out loud. Today people are free, you can post a comment on an online portal, play a song or wear a T-shirt with a specific idea in the public place and there are one of main liberties. In Lithuania‘s Constitution is enshrined that freedom of expression is the innate freedom of the human being, however, everything has it‘s limits.
