Definition of these two words. Purpose of spreadsheets and databases. Interactive  computer application  program. Storage of  data . Automate the calculations. Collection of the data. Organized collection of  data. Database management system. Text , numbers , images , sound. Banking systems for banks.

To start with, a spreadsheet is an interactive computer application program for organization, analysis and storage of data in tabular form. It also can be interpreted as “Electronic table”. Spreadsheet allows you to automate the calculations, where large amount of numbers is involved. This application is widely used for accounting, collection of the data, organizing timetables and so on. There is a lot of different spreadsheet software, including online Spreadsheets like Google Sheets, but the most popular is Microsoft Office Excel and I used to work in this application too.

The main difference between spreadsheet and database is that spreadsheet is commonly used for calculations, when database is convenient for data storage.

To sum up, spreadsheets and databases are an integral part of our digital world, allowing us to save our time and get rid of unnecessary paperwork.
