Similarities and Differences between Secondary school and University.

Nowadays there are many educational institutions all over the world. The main ones vary from kindergarten to university. But the most important institutions for a person’s development are secondary school and university. They both have more differences than similarities and that is going to be developed in the following paragraphs.

First of all, the biggest difference between these two educational institutions is the learning process. In secondary school, there is a fixed quantity and variety of subjects that a person has to study whereas in university a person chooses what he is recommended for his studies and interests. For instance, in Vytautas Magnus University or Harvard University it is mandatory for a student to pick lectures that are related to his studies and then pick additional lectures that are designed for wider education. In secondary school it is completely different. For example, in many Lithuania’s high schools teens pick classes that are mandatory to pass the exams and then pick one or two additional classes just to fill in the “time gap”.
