Restored under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, NATO is a defense alliance based on political and military cooperation between independent states.
NATO is a union of sovereign states that does not in itself affect the sovereignty of those states. NATO has no parliament or institutions of law.
NATO Disposal Forces can be divided into 3 categories: Emergency and Rapid Reaction Forces, Major Defense Forces and Undeployed (Reserve) Forces.
A joint civilian and military fund has been set up to sustain NATO structures.
