Modal Verb

Modal verb .

We use MUST to express strong OBLIGATION or DUTY. Something is necessary and essential to do. Obligation is imposed (to impose – primesti) by the speaker (Speaker’s authority – S.A.)

E.g.A) I can’t meet you on Friday. I have to work.

B) You have to wear uniform on duty, don’t you?

E.g. A) At our school, we have to wear a uniform.

B) Every player in a football team has to have a number.

C) When the traffic lights are red, you have to stop.

The PAST tense of the HAVE TO is HAD TO.

We say YOU SHOULDN’T (DO something) when we mean that it is NOT a good idea to do something, it is a wrong thing to do (when we advise not to do something):
