The ongoing battle against music piracy is far from over. More than a third of worldwide music consumers still access music via copyright infringement. This has a detrimental effect on developing musicians who are struggling to make ends meet. How can rates of piracy be reduced so the musicians can make a living from sales of their music? In this essay, I will analyse the problem and examine possible solutions.

One solution would be to educate people that digital piracy is wrong both legally and morally. Even though it is obvious for those who work in the industry but for consumers, especially younger ones it might not be the case.
