Nowadays, we live in a technological universe in which we are always communicating. From emails to instant messaging and social networking, today's society has a larger variety of methods of communication than ever before. In my way of thinking, the more connected we become, the lonelier we are.

Firstly, by communicating over social networking sites people have less and less actual society. For instance, they are using their computers and smartphones to communicate with their friends and family and also to congratulate them at various occasions. Therefore, people forget that face to face communication is better and more realistic.

To conclude, online communication cannot help users to make true friends or to feel less lonely. Although, social media can help to access one’s friends easier, lack of face-to-face communications make it difficult to invest in a relationship.
