The idea of progress has become impoverished because of bitter experience although technology and GDP advance, morals and society become selfish, it sinks back into decadence and barbarism.

Curiosity can be destructive because people are interested in new technologies, research. But no one knows how it will affect us or environment. For example nowadays climate is changing and we don’t know what can happen in a future. Human activities can not only promote progress but it can also destroy.
