Dwayne Douglas Johnson was born in Hayward (California) on May 2nd, 1972. Growing up, he lived in New Zealand in Grey Lynn with his mother's family. He played rugby there and attended Richmond Road Primary School. Then he returned to the US. After attending Montclaire Elementary School in Charlotte (North Carolina) he moved to Hamden (Connecticut) and spent a couple of years in at Shepherd Glen Elementary School and Hamden Middle School and so on till he stopped at Freedom High School. Before the age of 17, he struggled, and was arrested multiple times for fighting, theft and check fraud.
