Today we are going to talk about litas and euro currencies. And we are going to compare our lives with both of those currencies in Lithuania nowadays.
Lithuania already counting four years with the euro. Some already forgot what litas looks like, while others are still pushing prices from the euro to litas.
From 2015, when euro was introduced, in general prices grew by 3,9 percent and food products – 4,9.
After one year, 45 percent of people were still converting euro to litas.
In this way they are comparing prices between litas and euro.
We will be comparing food product prices and how they changed from 2014 to 2018. Did those prices changed a lot or stayed the same. Maybe we are overpaying for some of our products?
Coffe in “Statoil” gas station used to cost about 3 litas, now it costs 1 euro and 70 cents.
1 liter of milk cost about 3 litas, now it costs 1 euro.
“Raffaello” candies (150 g) cost 9 litas, but nowadays it costs 3 euros.
Chesse “Džiugas” (180 g) used to cost around 10 litas, now it costs 5 euros.
“Itališka” pizza in pizzeria “Čili” used to cost about 22 litas, but now it costs more than 9 euros.
“Jorės” rye bread used to cost about 2 litas, now it costs around 1 euro.
