Communication Technology Paper

Communication Technology. Introduction. Advantages and Disadvantages. Legislation Pertaining to ICT use in Ireland. Conclusion.
Just about 30 years ago we had only landline phones as only one personally possessed communication technology. All other communication was done in person or by postal services. If we moved far from our families, friends or business partners back in the days we knew that it will be hard to communicate and for simple questions may take long to get the answer. We used to send letters or more advance way of communication would be landline call or telegraph. None of us could imagine any better, faster ways back in the days to reach out for each other.
Business probably earns the most from the information technology as they can use the laptops and work remotely from anywhere in the world, they can use mobile phones to reach out for they clients or partners, have a conference calls and can connect with a few different people in a different countries. All these information technology devices and internet can help them to reduce the number of staff and get computer systems to do the job that previously was only made by the actual person for example online banking. However, this has a negative impact as well. If the internet is down or servers are not working this means that either business is down or the few people that are employed has to try to deal with the amount of work that the computers would. Also the data protection is always at risk because of the hackers who attack the companies and get their client`s details.
