Today our society is the most prosperous and dynamic that the world has ever created, but it has a huge impact on the environment. People have used so much of the Earth’s resources that the ecological footprint is huge. Alex Steffen in his speech talks about sustainable future and ways to solve environmental problems. He claims that now people should change their habits because they seem to be using about five planets and if we are not going to make a change, we will not live in clean world. I completely agree with the speaker, and it is high-time to change the situation.

Human behavior has contributed most to the changes that we see in the planet today. The speaker demonstrated that nowadays a large number of people live in the emerging megacities of the developing megaworld. We are adding to a planet a city of the size of Seattle every seven days and it pollutes the planet.
