Nowadays the media is a big part of most people’s lives. Whether it be social media or news media. Today’s media has a lot of power in our world to begin with. It can make images, videos or people go viral and some news organizations and their reporters can even set the agenda and push their ideals onto other people, therefore influencing their perspectives on certain topics. People on social media can spread rumours about other people anonymously or even post defamatory articles. However it’s safe to say that the media can also be positive, for example it can expose corruption, cover-ups and stories, people or organizations that lack credibility. Although I think it depends on the country but most news organizations report important news in an unbiased fashion, which is very commendable.
