The Economy of the Soviet Union from 1922 to 1953.


To sum it all up: The Union of Soviet Socialistic Respublic between 1922-1953 was

Huge and powerful empire leaded by communism ideas. During the Lenin‘s Red regime USSR experienced rise in economy due to New Economic Policy (NEP). However, terror and mass executions existed and starvation was not completely eliminated. Totalitarianism was continued by Joseph Stalin who adapted planned economy and tried to excel capitalist world. It was not that as successful as expected, but at least the level of unemployment was reduced. However, his idea of collectivization inflicted considerable damage on society and terror became more massive. All in all, the society was shaped in a negative way by economic reforms implemented by communism and it‘s leaders until the death of Joseph Stalin.
