Humectant (drėkinamoji medžiaga) – a substance that is used to reduce the loss of moisture. E.g.: Hand lotions or skin moisturizers are either humectants or lipids. Abrasive (šlifuojamoji medžiaga) – a substance used for grinding, polishing, or cleaning a hard surface. E.g.: He paint comes off with an abrasive steel-wool pad.
