When the finished product is made it is stored in warehouse or shipped directly to the Customer most of the times. This process is a non-value added activity. The mission of our warehouse is to hold finished products. Also warehouse can be helpful to meet the supply and demand gap. It can also be useful for quick response to a changing market demand of a certain product. As mentioned earlier, most of the times finished product is shipped to the Customer without storing it. Buyer is getting reports from the factories about finished and packed products. They are all prepared for shipping. Customer is contacted via email with weights and dimensions of shipment. The next step is to find out what way they want to receive their goods because Protech Plastics FOB are EXWORKS. Once shipment method is confirmed and part is made here in Cork, Commercial Invoice is being issued and Freight Company contacted about collection. When shipment is collected, tracking details are sent to the Customer. If parts are shipped from China (Shenzhen or Shanghai) we receive all Commercial Invoices on Fridays to key them off our system and to invoice our Customers. I must say that our Supply chain ends once parts are collected by Freight Company.
