Readers of fiction. Fiction refers to literature created from the imagination. Fiction genres can vary from fantasy to romance and even crime thrillers. In spite of this fact, 80 percent of fiction readers are women. Why is that? Explanations abound, but it all differs. Perhaps the reason could be that women are more empathetic than men. Under no circumstances should the society compare genders when it comes to emotions while that creates worst kind of gender stereotypes. In the environment I live, there isn’t any noticeable differences in the books my male and female friends read. Our teachers are the ones who decide what book genres we read. There is no doubt that reading fiction can broaden the understanding of emotions. Of course, analytical skills enormously benefit from it too as well as memory and neural connectivity in the brain. All in all, it is important to read fiction as it enhances memory and broadens imagination.
