Qara Qarayev

Qara Qarayev. Kara Karajev, Azerbaijan Qara Qarayev, (February 5, 1918, Baku, Azerbaijan - May 13, 1982, Moscow) was a Soviet music composer and pedagogue of Azerbaijani origin. Among his pupils was a number of later successful composers.

Born as a son of a doctor in Baku, his mother was very interested in music. He studied in the years 1935-1938 with Uzeiro Hadjibek and Leonid Rudolf at the Conservatory in Baku and then at the Moscow Conservatoire at Dmitry Shostakovich.

 Among his pupils was a number of later successful composers. His son Fərəc Karaëv is also a composer

After his death, he was taken to Baku and buried in Alejie's honorable deceased.
