When we refer to timetables / events in a calendar The concert begins at 7.30 pm and ends at 9.30 pm. The plane leaves at 11.00 am and arrives at 3 pm. Don’t forget to add –s or –es to the verb form in the 3rd person singular: HE/ SHE/ IT.

Why don’t we go to the beach today? Meaning: Let’s go to the beach We use: Why don’t we...? Why don’t i...?

Subject + verb infinitive + the rest of the sentence We add –s or –es to the verb infinitive in the 3rd person singular: HE/ SHE/ IT. I work You work We work They work in an office. He works She works It works.

Yes + subject + do/does Yes, I do. / Yes, he does. / Yes, we do. No + subject + do not, don’t/ does not, doesn’t No, I don’t. / No, he doesn’t / No, we don’t.

Most verbs add –s Examples: work, works/ drive, drives/ run, runs Verbs normally add –es when they end in o- do, does When verbs end in x, s, ch, sh we have to add –es S: miss, misses X: mix, mixes CH: catch, catches SH: push, pushes.
