Parnidis Dune
Parnidis dune.
Parnidis dune is in the Kuršių Nerija National Park. It is a favourite place of interest for the holidaymakers. This dune is about 52m high and about 5000-6000 years old. The Parnidis dune offers a very beautiful landscape. As far as the eye can see – only water, sand and forest. 99% of the dunes are made of quartz. You can see a sundial at the top of the dune, but to reach it you have to beat 1700 metres path. Now you can see it. 1995 was built a sundial – 13,8 meter stone pole which weighs 36 tons.
