Monologue "Study Subjects".

I’m going to talk about study subjects, more specifically about females’ decisions while choosing university subject. The chart present an overview of the number of female students who have chosen STEM courses at university in Lithuania. From 2012 to 2016 the number remain pretty much the same- 1700, however in 2014 it was larger by 1000. In 2018 it has dropped to 1500, which is quite a surprising change.

I would like to study in this educational category, probably just because I find STEM subjects more applying to me rather than humanitarian studies. For instance, I would rather solve some kind of mathematical problem rather than spend all day reading large history books. Another reason for choosing STEM programs would be that in Lithuania we have two really strong universities particularly in this kind of studies. Kaunas Technology University and Vilnius University are known for generating qualified professionals in IT, technologies or physics.
