Money and consumerism

Money and consumerism.

Nevertheless, it can be considered that consumerism has a negative effect because materialism plays a crucial part in consumer society. As consumerism is based on buying goods it might be said that it gives too much importance to material possessions and only connects wealth with happiness. However, people’s standard of living is closely connected to the emotional state of human being. People are much happier when they face less stress; material possessions make people’s lives easier and more comfortable.

To sum up, consumerism greatly influences society in a variety of positive ways: it creates new work opportunities and a wider assortment of goods and services, which only improve people’s wellbeing.
