Lithuanian police system.

The Lithuanian police system consists of the police department under the ministry of the interior, specialized police units, territorial police units and police professional training institutions. At the moment there are two police training institutions in Lithuanian, the Lithuanian police school and Mykolas Romeris University. The territorial police units consist of ten country police headquarters. I am from Panevezys country police headquarters. Only specialized police unit- the Lithuanian police operations unit ARAS. The six main functions of the police are to protect all humans ‘rights and freedoms, to keep public order and safety, provide first aid, to prevent and investigate crimes, to detect and investigate crimes and to control traffic safety.
