Is it better to plan your life carefully or make spontaneous decisions?

Frequently we hear how by the end of 12th-grade, students should already know what they are going to do after graduation. Sadly, in reality, most students have no idea. It is believed, that to live a successful life, you need to have a careful plan for your future, but is it necessary?

On the other hand, I choose to go by the flow. I like trying new things and learning more about myself as I grow. I don't want to feel restricted by a plan I made some time ago. As I see it, planning your life out often leads to disappointment and sometimes even failure.
