If I Stay By Gayle Forman - Book Review
If I stay by Gayle Forman - book review.
The novel is written in the present time, but there are a lot of flashbacks in the story. The story begins when Mia‘s family goes on a car trip and her family gets into a car accident. When Mia wakes up, she believes she was thrown out of the car, but when she rushes back to the scene she sees her body lying on the ground. At first she does not understand what is happening, but when her body is taken to the hospital, she realizes that she is having an out-body experience. In 24 hours the reader follows Mia in the hospital as her soul is trying to understand what is happening and why is she here – between life and death. Every chapter starts with Mia in the hospital and ends with a flashback from her past where the reader gets to know more about her family, her friend Kim and the love of her life – Adam.
