One way would be to attend to same hobbies,share same interests, find something that interests both parents and teens. In that way they would have what to talk about at any time and therefore they would find a common language.

Another solution would be for parents to learn to trust teenagers. There are many cases when there is no point for becoming angry at their kids. As a result the parents would feel better, and children would feel safer, knowing that parents trust them.

The most effective method for closing the generation gap, however, is for young people to stop acting very mature at some cases, and to know that parents wish them only the best. In fact, such things would only brought closer together family members.
