How coming to hss has improved my knowledge of hinduism, and what else have i learnt in shakhas?.

Coming to Shakha for the last 5–6 years has been an wonderful experience. Besides sports and competitive games, I have also learned countless number of things about my culture and religion, Hinduism. Shakha has also deepened my understanding about why we celebrate our festivals and the story behind them. It also acts as a way to detox and stay away from the internet for a few hours.

I’ve also learned about our holy scriptures in Hinduism and what Hinduism has contributed to the world. For Instance, recently I learnt that there are 4 time periods called Yugas, which have we been cycling through for millions of years. First comes Satya/Krita Yuga — The Age of Truth, Treta Yuga — The Age of ¼ Sin, Dvapara Yuga — TheAge of Half Sin, Kali Yuga — The Age of Sin.

I also learnt that famous activities like Yoga, Chess, were all contributed by Hinduism and are one of Hinduism’s biggest contributions to the world.
