Great And Relevant Literature Essay

Great and Relevant literature essay.

With today’s growth in modernity, literature does not mean the same or even play the same roles it did. This art has lost a lot of confidence seeing as today’s mysteries are less astonishing unlike yesterdays. Can this art thereby provide the necessary shock and still remain relevant over years? What are the attributes of a piece of literature that makes it retain the attraction over time and still retain its flabbergasting nature? (Copper)

The greatest literature over time has always been one that directly attacked human emotion. The ability to deeply describe how man feels in regard to a given situation will defeat the tale of time (Ingeborg Jandl). Man’s emotions towards specific subjects is what moves the artistic world as it provides him with an opportunity to lay out his feelings, portray his views and opinions etc. In an interview with literary hub Zinzi Clemmons, author of the autobiography novel titled What We Lose says that her work gained flow and significance only when she allowed herself to come to terms with her true feelings. According to (Watson) Zinzi Clemmons said that at the time of her writing, the writer’s mother was battling cancer and was constantly ill. Zinzi took care of her mother throughout and therefore had little time to write. So the little time she got, she focused on fictional stories a bit every day until she had a flowing story. The writer recalls giving the book to her agent and receiving very negative feedback which broke her. She had refused to write about her deepest of emotions. She refused to let her pain and grief get in the way of her writing and instead she had drawn away into a world on no existence.
