What positive and negative effects does globalization have on societies.
In the twenty-first century we hear more and more about phenomenon called globalization. But what we can understand under this notion? Globalization is an ongoing process by which regional economies, societies and cultures have become integrated through a globe-spanning network of communication and trade. The result of this occurence is forming the world global community as a one village. This process is highly discussed and we can find arguments for positive and negative globalization effects on societies.
To begin with, the major advantage of globalization on societies is the progress in technology and communication advances. These days technology is building bridges between people on opposite sides of the globe, bringing people from all cultures and backgrounds into contact with each other. The internet has made long distances almost transparent and social networking sites allow free international communication. Furthermore, globalization benefits society as it makes our journeys simplier to implement and meaningful information can be spread more widely. This means that globalization give us opportunities to work or study abroad, which are a huge chance for young people to meet new friends and get invaluable experiences. We should also mention the fact, that online education is nowadays, making it possible to provide knowledge to students and other people all over the world.
Considering all the advantages and disadvantages mentioned before, in my personal view, globalization has more positive effects on societies. Even if, there are some negative effects we still should enjoy the benefits of globalization has brought. The importance and impact of globalization in our daily lives is unquestionable, it makes out life more convenient, increase our standard of living and make life less-stressful than in the past.
