Gender equality.

We have made great strides toward gender equality in the recent past, but we still have a long way to go to ensure equal opportunities for women in terms of livelihoods, participation and voting rights. Now that the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) is ravaging the world, the stakes are even higher, as women have often been on the front lines in times of major crises. Women predominate in key positions such as nurses, social workers and caregivers. They also work as physicians and volunteers, and are political and community leaders who make critical decisions about how to deal with the health, social, and economic impacts of crises.
