This report analyses the Food and Drink industry using the PESTLE analysis format and takes into account the strengths and weaknesses of companies within the industry.
Using the widely known PESTLE format, the main six factors that affect the food and drink industry have been analysed using this method of evaluation. These factors are Political, Economic, Sociocultural, Technology, Legal and Environmental.
A PESTLE analysis helps evaluate the importance and strength of these factors. It helps businesses decide which of these factors are favourable and which are not.
The findings include compliances with regulatory frameworks that the government has set in place for the food and drink industry to act on, cheaper products aimed at budget demographics, individuals cooking less and eating out more resulting in a positive effect on the whole industry, health awareness has affected the whole industry to try and act upon the importance of the health of their consumers, automation of the food industry resulting in less labourers required, also technological advancements that mean that companies can interact with their consumers for feedback, legal safety standards that if breached can result in costly lawsuits, also, acting upon large carbon footprints by innovative approaches that are more sustainable for the environment.
This report will be addressing the most influential external environment factors on an industry chosen.
The purpose of this report is to demonstrate my personal academic skills and professional development towards employability. Show effective application of Harvard referencing. Show that I can research, analyse, evaluate and interpret sources of business information to assess the impact of the external environment on organisations in an industry/sector to demonstrate commercial awareness and subject knowledge and critical thinking.
My answer will include a PESTLE analysis of the industry of my choosing with examples of specific organisations/companies within the said industry also including some analysis of the threats and opportunities.
