Increases in violence and deaths of young people due to guns, knives and gangs crime at the present time has become a problem of almost every society in the world. And it became not just minor problem in the world but a major problem that requires state intervention. According to the BBC magazine finding by Tom de Castella and Caroline McClatchey (2011, online) showed that ’... up to 6% of 10-19-year-olds belonged to a gang in England and Wales. In 2008 Strathclyde Police estimated there were 170 gangs in Glasgow, with 3,500 gang members aged from 11 to 23. Also the previous year, the Metropolitan Police said there were 171 gangs in London. And at least half of the 27 murders of teenagers in London in 2007 were gang-related, according to the Metropolitan Police. Officers in Liverpool and Manchester have said in the past that 60% of shootings are linked to gangs’ which shows that gang crime and lead to it deaths is increasing every year and that if it would not stop it will touch a masses of people. However before trying to prevent or reduce crime in numbers we need to understand what causes of young people from age 10 to 23 commit crimes like: gun, knife, gang crimes which in most of times lead to death. As many developmental criminologists argue that causes to this crime is hidden behind: individual and family factors also environment were person was living as all these factors can influence on persons behavior. In addition in this essay work I will show how developmental criminologist perspectives explain a factor which are causing of young people violent behavior and committed crimes but also providing with information and projects how police is trying to prevent or help young people to not break the law.
