European union structural funds and regional policy in Lithuania.
Data provided by Ministry of Republic of Lithuania Europe Regional Development fund provides various financial support for regions. The Fund consist of half of all structural funds budget. Fund provides:
Investments to manufacturing, for a creation and safeguard sustainable jobs;
Investments to infrastructure (roads, telecommunications, energetics) to connect central EU regions with peripheral;
Investments which helps to refresh industry, agricultural regions which are in crisis;
Creation of jobs and support for a small and average business (business consultancy, market research, scientific research);
Europe Social Fund support projects which are solving social (firstly employment problems). Fund financing:
Scientific research and technology development (for example: Training of specialists in research institutions);
Social economy projects (for example: Helps to create private childcare facilities);
European Maritime and Fisheries Fund supports installing for a new methods and economic activity reorientation in areas where conducted of fisheries.
Cohesion Fund appointed for member states which gross national income consit of less than 90% community average. Cohesion fund support appointed for a big projects of transport and environment, including trans-european networks, effective energy and renewable energy projects.
