Should Students take School Leaving Exams this Year?

The quarantine rules in Lithuania forced all schools to close and start teaching process remotely. Schools were not ready to teach students in this way. So there is a big chance that twelfth grade students would not get ready as well as they could gotten if they were learning at school. There is a big debate on whether twelfth grade students should take school leaving exams or entrance to university points should be counted using eleventh and twelfth grade annual marks. In my opinion, students should take exams this year.

Firstly, students were preparing for these exams twelve years and now saying them: “you cannot take school leaving exams” seems quite unfair. It would be like saying to a professional football player: “now you will be competing in Olympics as a runner”.
