Teenagerhood is a difficult period of time when carefree children transition to responsible adults. All teens want to develop into mature, responsible and productive members of family and the community. One method to achieve the maturity is to obtain part-time employment. Such jobs have both advantages and disadvantages.

One of the biggest benefits of a part-time job is income. Teenagers have the desire to follow new technological and fashion trends, hence they need money to acquire new things. What is more, having a job gives the teenager financial independence from parents, hence teenager’s self – confidence and responsibility level increases. Furthermore, part – time jobs help obtain valuable work experiences, which help get full – time employment when mentioned in the CV. However, part – time jobs for students also have disadvantages.

To sum it up, students with part – time jobs mature more quickly and become more responsible and independent, however their grades and progress in school may suffer due to the lack of time.
