Today I am going to talk about environmental actions. In front of me is a chart which illustrates the number of volunteers at the environmental campaign “Let’s do it” in Lithuania over 7 years – starting with 2012 and ending with 2018. The smallest number of volunteers was recorded back in 2018, which was only 130 thousand. Compared to 2016 we can see a significant difference. Year 2016 was when the number of volunteers was the biggest – it was a total of 266 thousand. And looking at years 2012 – 2014, number of volunteers between those years was unswerving. In conclusion, it’s possible that people in Lithuania cared the most about the environment in year 2016, but from then on they stopped caring so much and the numbers dropped drastically and everything started going downhill.

Moving on to the second question, I suppose that the greater part of people in Lithuania don’t care about whether they’re ignorant about the effects of littering or if they’re lazy. Younger people are more aware about the effects of older generations’ ignorance of environment, although the majority of them are still lazy and instead of looking for a recycle bin or a trash can to throw out a plastic wrap of a candy or a chocolate bar they just ate, they just throw it out wherever and whenever they like.
