Essay On Buying Books
Why do you buy books?.
“A room without books is like a body without a soul.” – said Marcus Tullius Cicero once. I absolutely agree with this quote. In every single page you can feel different sensibilities, different experiences, moods – and these things change our puny and trifling human world. Few years ago I was a bookworm. I was reading books one after another. So this topic about books means a lot to me. I am pleasured to talk about buying books.
In 2011 there was a questionnaire with a question “Why do you buy books?” Most of respondents answered, that they buy books as Christmas gifts. The least bought books – travelling. Books for travels are purchased just by 3% of respondents. Sadly, but pleasure reading books are bought just by 20% respondents. This small number doesn’t mean, that people are not reading books. Most of people just takes books from libraries – it is a cheap (often free) joy for readers. Another cheap way to read – internet. Lots of people are interested in reading in internet. You save time, there is no term to give back books and it is way more comfortable than going to libraries.
