According to the meteorological station in Kaunas, last year the thickness of the ozone layer over Lithuania was 20-30 % less than the average. Thinned ozone layer was also observed over the Baltic Sea.

Besides, there are a lot other environmental issues in Lithuania.In my opinion, the biggest issue would be be chemicals and waste materials released into the environment.The human body is not designed to consume these chemicals and that worsens our immune system and we get sick easily. Other problem would be threatened species of animals and plants, because we are all part of nature, so it shoudn` t give us the right to threaten plants or even animals. There are also water pollution, when people don‘t consider the fact that by doing this they are harming water animals. Also, these days most people use cars which leads to to consequences, such as air pollution.

To reduce environmental problems, people should insist on proper disposal by industrial plants of their toxic waste which pollutes air. Then people will breath cleaner and then their health will improve. Also, government could desalinate salt water into fresh water and by doing that people will have have cleaner water.
