Essay About Different Food Cultures

Essay about Different food cultures.

Fugu is a fish. More accurately a blowfish which is consumed in large number mostly in Japan. It might seem like an ordinary fish, except- it's more poisonous than cyanide. Fugu is considered to be a delicacy in Japan, but it requires extraordinary chief skills to prepare it safely. To spill the beans, more than half of Japans food poisoning deaths are the result of Fugu. Nevertheless, even if the fish is prepared correctly a large amount of it might result in extreme food poisoning which usually leads to death. The poison is so strong that it might kill a grown-up man in a matter of minutes. This delicacy has very old roots and is originated from a town in Japan which is called Shimonoseki. Previously it was banned but one prime minister has enjoyed eating fugu so much that he lifted the ban in 1888.
