Does a person’s handwriting reveal their personality?

Handwriting is an interesting and valuable way to understand ourselves and get to know the nature of the people around us. The interest was aroused by the fact that handwriting is peculiar to everyone individually, and therefore one can get to know a person in absentia without knowing him or her. The study of handwriting may also reveal the presence of hidden character traits of people, which can be used by them in their future life. And, of course, it is interesting that handwriting can be studied not only by handwriting specialists, but also by ordinary people.

Aristotle noted that a person's handwriting reflects his or her temperament. Later Lafater, Leibniz, Goethe and others were working on it. Nowadays graphology, the discipline about connection of handwriting and character is a fully developed science with solid theoretical basis and a number of different directions. Personality identification by handwriting is widely used today in psychological diagnostics, in space medicine, in forensics. There are cases when specialists managed to solve crimes by just one handwriting. Analysis of person's personality by his/her handwriting is applied at employment in some countries of Western Europe.
